History of the Mart Gallery Dublin The Mart Gallery Dublin was founded in 2007 by Ciara Scanlan and Matthew Nevin. The duo, who were graduates of the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, saw a gap in the art scene for a contemporary space that could provide opportunities for emerging artists.


The first Mart Gallery was opened in an old hardware store in Rathmines, and since then, the gallery has expanded to include two additional locations in Dublin - Mart Fire Station and Mart Studios.
