Fry Model Railway Museum

Fry Model Railway is a working miniature rail display, constructed in the 1920- 19030s, modernized and developed for years gave fantastic results. It’s the largest model railway collection in Europe!

Fry Model Railway is a unique collection of handmade models of Irish trains, from the beginning of rail travel to modern times.

The railway includes:

• miniatures of stations
• locations
• streets
• Irish landmarks such as the River Liffer and Howth head.

The network was set on Malahide Castle grounds and covered an area of 25000 square feet (232.25 square meters) up until 2010. It’s closed due to reconstruction, but will re-open at Casino House in Marino in early 2017.

Exhibition’s founder was a railway engineer and draughtsman, Cyril Fry. He  built this model and  completed with lots of miniature vehicles, including buses, trams and lorries. It was to become a labour of love that lasted from 1930s to the 1960s. The layout grew so big that it filled his bungalow in Churchtown and was later relocated to Malahide Castle.

The largest Europe working miniature railway system includes a model of every train that ever ran on the railways of Ireland. An impressive collection delights every visitor, making it a fantastic destination for adults and the little ones, for the locals and tourists.

This top Dublin attraction is under construction at the moment, but will open its doors for all residenst and tourists, adults and the little ones in early 2017 in will be dispalyed in a new location.
