✨Situated in Glasnevin, the National Botanic Gardens are home to a wide variety of plant life. The 19.5 hectares are also home to a river that runs through the gardens, adding to the natural beauty of the area.

✨The gardens were established in 1795 by the Dublin Society and are currently managed by the State through the Office of Public Works.

✨The Botanic Garden boasts a diverse range of 20,000 living plants and millions of dried plant specimens from across the globe. There are several architecturally notable greenhouses

✨Not only are the gardens a beautiful tourist destination and an amenity for the local residents, but they also serve as a center for horticultural research and training – including the breeding of many different types of prized orchids. And the best part is that entry is free!

✨The Glasnevin site is the headquarters of the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland which has a satellite garden and arboretum at Kilmacurragh in County Wicklow..

✨The gardens are involved in both national and international efforts to conserve biodiversity and promote sustainable development. Dr. Matthew Jebb, the Director of the Gardens, is also the Chairman of PlantNetwork.

✨The Plant Collections Network of Britain and Ireland is Ireland’s seventh most visited attraction. It is a free attraction that is open to the public and features a wide variety of plant life.
