Temple Bar Gallery + Studios (TBG+S) is an artists community in the heart of Dublin city centre. Founded in 1983, the building houses thirty artists’ studios in which professional visual artists make their work. Member artists at TBG+S work in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture and photography and the work made in studios at TBG+S goes on to be exhibited around the country and internationally.
At the TBG+S gallery, temporary exhibitions are presented regularly and represent a cross section of contemporary Irish and international visual arts practice. The gallery is open five days a week and admission is free.
Temple Bar Gallery + Studios is a contemporary gallery and artist studio located in the centre of Dublin. The centre is located in Temple Bar, Dublin City's designated cultural quarter. They have a program of public events that allow people to meet artists, get inside the studios, ask questions, make their own art and learn something new. Temple Bar Gallery + Studios was founded in 1983 by artists for artists. The original studios and gallery were located in a former shirt factory and were renovated in 1994. The current building contains a contemporary visual art gallery and thirty artists' studios it provides recent Irish graduates the opportunity and resources to develop professionally via a stipend, travel award, and free studio space Temple Bar Gallery + Studios is a limited company. The Board is made up of four artist members and five external professionals with different expertise and business experience. Professional visual artists are provided with subsidized workspace. The Board appoints a panel to review the applications for Membership and Associate Membership. It's free to get in.
